To act on your behalf, we need your written authorisation (power of attorney). Please do not forget to sign it.
Power of attorney for civil matters
For cases in family law or international contract law, attorney at law Andrea Melletat provides the appropriate power of attorney for civil matters. - file an objection within the deadline,
- communicate with the authority or the court,
- and represent you out of court and, where necessary, in court.
Legal aid for court costs (Prozesskostenhilfe and Verfahrenskostenhilfe)
If your personal and financial circumstances do not allow you to pay the legal and court costs, you can apply for legal aid (Prozesskostenhilfe). This state support aims to give everyone access to justice regardless of their financial situation. Our firm will gladly help you with the application and advise you on all the necessary steps. To make use of the state support, you must complete and sign a corresponding declaration. Please fill in the following document and bring it with you on your next visit to our office. We will of course assist you should you need help completing the document or have further questions.
Release from medical confidentiality
To obtain necessary information from medical professionals, a formal release from medical confidentiality is required in certain cases. This release allows doctors and other medical experts to pass on patient-related information, which is normally protected by confidentiality, to authorised third parties. Such a measure is particularly important in legal matters, insurance questions or other specific situations in which detailed medical information is essential for clarifying or handling a case.
Pension rights equalisation (Versorgungsausgleich)
If you are married and want to get divorced, download the form for spouses. If you are or were in a civil partnership, download the form for civil partners.
Legal advice aid (Beratungshilfe)
Would you like legal advice but have only a low income? The Melletat attorneys will gladly help you apply for legal advice aid (Beratungshilfe), quickly, discreetly and competently. State legal advice aid enables citizens with a low income to obtain legal advice and, if necessary, out-of-court representation. Legal advice aid can be granted for all areas of law, such as family law, tenancy law, social law, employment law or criminal law.
